Celebrating our superstar skydivers!

1st September 2025

Huge well done to our superstar fundraisers who took on a charity skydive on Saturday 30th August to raise money for The Giles’ Trust.

We’d like to say a big thank you to Tilly, Joe, Julia and Faye for supporting us. They have all smashed their fundraising targets and between them, they have raised nearly £3,000!

Tilly’s parents, Stine and Ashley founded The Giles’ Trust in 2015, following Stine’s diagnosis and treatment for multiple brain tumours. Tilly grew up watching her mum’s battle against brain tumours, so it is an extremely personal cause close to her heart. Tilly and her family understand how frightening and emotional going through brain tumour treatment is, and by setting up the Charity they have been able to support other families going through similar experiences.

The couple were raising money for Stine’s Home from Home, which provides free accommodation to brain tumour patients and their families just a 5-minute walk away from the QE.

Tilly said, “Stine’s Home from Home offers a safe, welcoming space for patients undergoing treatment and their families, helping them stay close to loved ones when it matters most.”

Stine added, “When I was first diagnosed with a brain tumour my daughter was only 4 and my son was 6. Having somewhere for my husband and young children to stay so close to the hospital would have meant a lot to me and my family.”

Julia is a longstanding supporter of the Charity and decided it was time to step out of her comfort zone and do something amazing to raise some money.

Julia said, “I believe that no matter what’s going on in our own lives, someone out there is always facing something harder — and that’s why this matters. This skydive is more than just a challenge for me — it’s a way of giving back, pushing my comfort zone, and doing something that frankly scares the life out of me!”

Doing a skydive has always been on Faye’s bucket list and when the opportunity to do one for charity came up, she didn’t hesitate to sign up!

All of the money they have raised will go towards funding vital research into brain tumours, pioneering facilities and equipment and extra support for patients going through treatment at the QE.

We’re extremely grateful to our incredible fundraisers, donors and supporters, thanks to them we can continue to help brain tumour patients and their families going through the toughest time of their lives.
