Meet Michael, a brain tumour patient currently going through treatment at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham. Michael has had an extremely tough year. In April he underwent surgery at University Hospital North Midlands and since May he has been going through radiotherapy and chemotherapy at the QE.
Michael’s treatment journey has been challenging and intense for both him and his family, and he has shown strength and resilience through such a difficult time. We wanted to arrange a special treat for Michael to give him a boost and create some wonderful memories with his wife, Trudi.
Michael is a huge supporter of Birmingham City Football Club and one of his heroes is former footballer, Mick Harford. Mick travelled from Luton to Birmingham to surprise Michael, spending time with him to chat all things football as well as presenting him with some Birmingham City FC goodies.
Michael’s wife, Trudi said, “Thank you so much for all you did to make the afternoon with Mick Harford so special. My Mick had a fabulous afternoon and has been overwhelmed, in a good way, with everyone’s kindness.”
We are so grateful to our supporters who continue to fundraise and raise awareness for The Giles’ Trust Brain Tumour Fund. Thanks to your help we can provide added extras for patients like Mick, lifting their spirits when they need it most.
