Meet Mark, a brain tumour patient at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham. Mark has received excellent care from the incredible team at the Cancer Centre for the past 2 years and regularly comes to the hospital for appointments.

Mark is a lifelong fan of West Bromwich Albion Football Club and throughout his treatment he has continued to go to The Hawthorns to watch them play. The Giles’ Trust and the team at the Cancer Centre wanted to do something special for Mark and his family, so we presented him with his very own football shirt with his name on.

To make this moment even more special we reached out to one of his Baggies heroes, former Captain Chris Brunt, who took the time to come and meet Mark and spend time talking all things football with him, his wife Lynne and son Richard.

It was a heart-warming moment and we’re so grateful to Chris for making it extra special. Will Garratt, Neuro Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist said “We are delighted to be working with the Giles’ Trust to make these magical moments happen for our patients. It makes such a huge difference to the patient and their families, giving them the boost they need and creating such special memories for them.”
